Aston Martin AMB 002 Roadster Is a 130bhp Titanium-Framed Motorcycle Built for the Road

130bhp From a New 1,083cc V-Twin

At the heart of the AMB 002 is an all-new 1,083cc four-stroke, liquid-cooled V-twin.

Rather than chasing an enormous peak horsepower figure, Brough Superior has tuned the engine to deliver strong low- and mid-range torque.That approach makes sense for a road-focused motorcycle. On public roads, usable torque and throttle response are often more important than having an engine that only comes alive at extremely high rpm.The result is intended to be a motorcycle that feels exciting without requiring a racetrack to exploit its performance.

A 5kg Titanium Frame Is the Engineering Highlight

Perhaps the most remarkable part of the AMB 002 isn’t its engine.It’s the frame.Brough Superior has created a titanium backbone frame that is milled from solid billet and weighs just 5kg. The structure forms the central spine of the motorcycle and contributes to the machine’s claimed 50:50 weight distribution.The complete motorcycle weighs approximately 190kg.That combination of low weight, centralized mass and a low center of gravity should give the AMB 002 a very different character from a conventional superbike.

Carbon-fiber bodywork and a carbon-fiber fuel tank also help keep weight low while allowing the designers to maintain the distinctive shape of the motorcycle.

Fior Suspension Brings a Different Approach

The front suspension is another area where Brough Superior has avoided convention.

Instead of traditional telescopic forks, the AMB 002 uses a Fior double-wishbone front suspension system.

The design separates steering and braking forces and is intended to provide more consistent front-end behavior during cornering and braking.

The system is an evolution of the setup used on the AMB 001 Pro.

One of its major advantages is its anti-dive characteristics, which can help keep the motorcycle more stable under heavy braking. This should be particularly useful when braking while the bike is already leaned into a corner.

Whether the Fior system delivers a major advantage in real-world riding will ultimately be determined once customers begin riding the production motorcycles. But from an engineering perspective, it gives the AMB 002 a clear identity of its own.

Aston Martin Design on Two Wheels

The AMB 002 looks exactly like the type of motorcycle you’d expect from an Aston Martin collaboration.

Its bodywork is dominated by smooth carbon-fiber surfaces, compact proportions and a strong forward-biased stance.

The fuel tank and side fairings have been sculpted to flow around the rider, while crescent-shaped openings in the bodywork help with engine cooling and airflow.

Aston Martin’s famous side-strake has also been redesigned for the motorcycle, running through the side fairing toward the headlamp.

There are several other details borrowed from Aston Martin’s four-wheeled range.

The twin oval exhausts feature ribbed heat-sink elements inspired by the exhaust treatment used on the Vanquish, DB12 S and DBX S.

At the rear, the light blades take inspiration from the Aston Martin Vulcan, Valkyrie and Valhalla.

The result doesn’t look like a car converted into a motorcycle. Instead, Aston Martin has translated its design language into a much smaller and more mechanical form.

Luxury Details Meet Racing Technology

The AMB 002 combines modern materials with traditional craftsmanship.

The motorcycle features carbon fiber and titanium alongside hand-crafted leather seat pads. It also gets keyless functionality and a backlit ignition button.

That combination is important to the character of the bike.

Aston Martin isn’t trying to create the most affordable or practical motorcycle. It is creating something that feels closer to a collectible performance object.

The extensive use of CNC-machined components also reflects Brough Superior’s approach to manufacturing. The engine cases are machined from billet at the company’s headquarters in Toulouse, France, where the engine is also assembled.

This is very different from conventional motorcycle production.

Only 300 Will Be Built

The AMB 002 will be limited to just 300 motorcycles worldwide.

That number helps explain why Aston Martin and Brough Superior can use such expensive materials and highly specialized manufacturing processes.

Each motorcycle will be individually built rather than produced in large volumes.

For collectors, that exclusivity will likely be a major part of the appeal.

The AMB 002 isn’t intended to compete directly with mainstream superbikes such as the Ducati Panigale V4 or BMW M 1000 RR. Its appeal comes from the combination of rarity, design, engineering and brand identity.

It is effectively a two-wheeled extension of the same philosophy Aston Martin applies to its most exclusive cars.

AMB 002 vs AMB 001 Pro

Although the AMB 002 follows the AMB 001 and AMB 001 Pro, it isn’t simply a road-legal version of the previous track motorcycle.

The AMB 001 Pro was designed specifically for circuit riding, while the AMB 002 has been engineered around public-road use.

Its more upright riding position and road-focused power delivery make it a fundamentally different machine.

That could actually make the AMB 002 the more interesting proposition for collectors who want to experience their motorcycle outside a racetrack.

Instead of being a machine that spends most of its life in a private collection or being transported to a circuit, the AMB 002 can theoretically be ridden from the owner’s garage onto the road.

Deliveries Begin in 2027

Aston Martin and Brough Superior are already accepting initial orders for the AMB 002 Roadster.

Production will remain strictly limited to 300 examples, with the first customer deliveries scheduled to begin in Q3 2027.

Pricing has not been included in the initial announcement, but given the motorcycle’s construction, extremely limited production and Aston Martin positioning, this is clearly aimed at the collector end of the market.

The Aston Martin of Motorcycles?

The AMB 002 is an unusual product, but that’s exactly why it works.

It doesn’t need to be the most powerful motorcycle on the road. With 130bhp, a 190kg claimed weight and 110Nm of torque, its performance figures are impressive without being the defining feature.

The real attraction is the combination of Aston Martin design and Brough Superior engineering.

The titanium frame, Fior front suspension, carbon-fiber bodywork and hand-finished details give the AMB 002 a character that most production motorcycles simply can’t replicate.

More importantly, it marks a new chapter for the partnership.

The AMB 001 and AMB 001 Pro proved that Aston Martin could create an extraordinary track motorcycle. The AMB 002 now takes that idea onto the road.

With just 300 examples planned, it is unlikely to become a common sight anywhere.

And for the riders who do get the opportunity to own one, that’s probably exactly the point.
