The 2027 Nissan Fairlady Z doesn’t try to reinvent the RZ34. Instead, Nissan has refined its modern Z around the things enthusiasts care about most: heritage-inspired styling, rear-wheel-drive performance, a twin-turbo V6 and sharper chassis dynamics.
For 2027, the Fairlady Z receives a redesigned front end inspired by Nissan’s historic sports cars, new exterior and interior options, improved charging technology and suspension revisions designed to deliver more consistent handling.
The biggest development is reserved for the Fairlady Z NISMO, which adds a six-speed manual transmission—giving Nissan’s flagship Z a much more traditional enthusiast-focused character.

EXTERIOR DESIGN
The 2027 Fairlady Z gets its most obvious changes at the front. Nissan redesigned the bumper and grille, taking inspiration from classic Z models while maintaining the proportions that made the RZ34 immediately recognizable.A body-color bar now crosses the grille opening, while a new Z emblem replaces the Nissan badge at the nose. But Nissan hasn’t treated the facelift as a purely cosmetic exercise. The shape of the bumper, grille opening and internal air ducts has been revised to improve cooling airflow while reducing aerodynamic lift and drag. That matters on a car like the Z. The RZ34 already has the classic long hood, short rear deck and low-slung coupe proportions associated with the Fairlady Z. The 2027 changes make the front end look more purposeful without destroying the retro-modern design language.
A NEW COLOR WITH OLD-SCHOOL DNA
The standout new color is Unryu Green Pearl Metallic, paired with a Super Black roof. The color references the green associated with the classic S30-generation Z but uses a modern pearl effect that changes dramatically depending on the light. It is exactly the kind of color that suits the Z: recognizable from a distance but still unmistakably modern.
INTERIOR & COMFORT
Inside, Nissan hasn’t completely redesigned the RZ34 cabin—and that’s probably the right decision. The Fairlady Z continues with a driver-focused cockpit that combines modern displays with physical controls. The dashboard retains the characteristic Z design details, including the three auxiliary gauges positioned above the center console. The overall atmosphere is more sports car than luxury coupe. That’s important because the Z isn’t trying to compete with a BMW or Mercedes on interior opulence. Its priority is putting the driver in the center of the experience. For 2027, Nissan adds a new tan interior option on the Performance model, extending the upholstery across the seats, lower door panels, center console and dashboard. There’s also a new Qi2 wireless charging system with magnetic alignment and active cooling. The system supports up to 15 watts and is designed to provide more consistent charging performance.
